Dear purple/dev users,
As discussed by the editorial board five weeks ago, a new kind of
content is added to IPOL: workshops.
IPOL workshops are experimental and/or temporary works, not ready for
review yet, or not adapted to the current rules and constraints of an
IPOL article, but available online for early evaluations. They can be
used to test and propose extensions to way IPOL works, to show some
work for an external evaluation (journal or conference), etc. They can
include PDF documents, code archives and/or web demos.
Workshops are published from the development server. Anyone with an
account on this server can release, update or remove a workshop. The
list of current workshops is at http://dev.ipol.im/ws/ and accessible
from a "WORKSHOPS" link in the top menu on http://www.ipol.im.
There is more documentation in the wiki...
-> https://tools.ipol.im/wiki/doc/workshop/
... and more on the security, style and copyright of workshops...
-> https://tools.ipol.im/wiki/doc/workshop/warning/
... and on the permanence of their addresses ...
-> https://tools.ipol.im/wiki/doc/workshop/redirection/
Two new features of the development server are also especially useful
for workshops:
configure your demo to be automatically started
-> https://tools.ipol.im/wiki/doc/dev_server/autostart/
have a demo without user/password restrictions
-> https://tools.ipol.im/wiki/doc/dev_server/demo_password/
