Well I agree with you about pdfjs as a good candidate. But unfortunately,
it is not yet as mature as FlexPaper so far. In particular, text selection
and clickable links are missing. I know that the authors are working on
fixing these issues but I have no idea when they will make it.
As for starting a test, that is all the purpose of this page
http://dev.ipol.im/~simonl/php/pdfInHtml/ (where can upload your pdf file,
and check the different embedding solutions) and the link sent by Nicolas
(where you can see a given Ipol article embedded as a pdf in the Ipol
canvas).
